Environmental Health and Safety Risk Assessment

Home Environmental Health and Safety Risk Assessment

Items that are unsafe or could become unsafe for clients or staff or interfere with staff access or service delivery must be identified and addressed promptly.

All staff must stay alert for hazards such as broken steps, frayed cords, poor lighting, or blocked pathways, and take appropriate corrective action when possible.

If a hazard cannot be fixed immediately, a Corrective Action Report (CAR) must be completed and submitted to the relevant supervisor or coordinator.

All hazards, actions taken, and any ongoing risks must be documented in the client’s record and reported to the office as part of ongoing safety management.

Free of obstacles, uneven floors, mats, frayed carpets, slippery surface, obstructions

Pets:

Do you have any animals or pets?

Electricity and Gas:

Condition of leads and placement (trips)
Condition of plugs and power points
Double adaptors (must have safety power boards)
Hair dryers or portable heaters near water
Heaters not properly guarded
Lighting
Condition of gas appliances
Power surge protection
Is there mobile phone coverage or reception?

Mari is responsible for managing the Business Development Team. She has been with Senior Helpers for over 10 years with 14 prior years’ experience as a successful business owner and entrepreneur.

Peter Ross

Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder

Peter co-founded SH Franchising with Tony Bonacuse in 2004 and is the current CEO for Senior Helpers. He has led the organisation to become a national leader in non-medical home care in the USA. He is also the past President of the Home Care Association of America’s board of directors.
