In-Home Multiple Sclerosis Support You Can Rely On
Multiple Sclerosis is a progressive neurological disease that affects more than 25,000 Australians. Because the disease interferes with the function of the nerves, people experience a wide range of symptoms that vary from person to person. Despite new and evolving treatments, there is, no cure yet.
We understand there is no one-size-fits-all approach for Multiple Sclerosis support. We’ll take the time to get to know you and your family, to offer a plan that makes your life easier and more enjoyable.
Our Support Workers Are Expertly Trained and Ready to Help
Senior Helpers’ Multiple Sclerosis Support Program is a specialised training program for our Support Staff, created by an experienced Senior Lecturer in Health and Nursing in Australia, based on the resources of MS Australia and others. This program is unique to Senior Helpers and is designed to give our staff the necessary training and skills to create personalised support for individuals living with MS.
Senior Helpers Support Staff are educated and trained on the ways Multiple Sclerosis can affect each person. We can help you with:
- Techniques and strategies to identify and manage the motor (movement/mobility) and non-motor (thinking/behavioural) symptoms
- Home safety and falls prevention
- Diet and nutrition
- Keeping active and ‘brain healthy’
