Navigating The New 'Support At Home' Program

Australia’s aged care system is evolving, with a stronger focus on providing flexible, personalised support for older people living at home. From November 2025, the new Support at Home Program will replace existing Home Care Packages.

Your Senior Helpers Care Partner is proud to support you to understand the new system, access your funding, and receive quality care. Depending on your income and the services you need, you may need to contribute to your care costs, except for clinical care which is fully covered by your package.

What does this mean for you?

Tailored Funding: To reflect your actual care needs, funding will be allocated to ensure you get the right services at the right time.

Greater Flexibility: Easier to adjust your care as your needs change.

Transparency: Clearer costs and services.

Senior Helpers is ready for the new Support at Home Program. Our team understands the reforms and is committed to helping seniors and families navigate the new system with confidence. Whether you were on a Home Care Package or applying for the first time, we’ll guide you through the steps.

How We Support You

  1. We help you apply through My Aged Care or guide you through the new system.
  2. We build a personalised care plan with you, aligned to your funding and goals.
  3. Services begin when you’re ready, delivered by trained, trusted professionals.

Am I Eligible?

If you’re aged 65 or over (or 50+ for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) and need help with everyday tasks, you may qualify for government-funded care under Support at Home.

We’re here to walk you through the process, step by step, with no pressure and no confusion.

Once your application has been approved, here’s what you can expect:
  • Quick Start to Care: Prestige services can begin within 24 hours of signing up, provided your quarterly budget is available.
  • Quarterly Budgets: Support at Home funding is provided every three months, so you will receive your funds at the start of each quarter.
  • Use Your Funding When You Need It: 100% of your Support at Home funding can go directly toward your care, so there’s no need to save it for the future.
  • Extra Funding Support: You can apply for top-up funding for support like home modifications, restorative care, or end-of-life pathways.
  • Higher Levels of Care: Additional services are also available for clients with more care needs
